Food Matters Manitoba engages Manitobans towards healthy, sustainable, and fair food for all. Our work includes cultivating community food skills, building networks and partnerships, and public education around food issues.
The Winnipeg Foundation provided funding for the St Vital Community Food Assessment. It is the second largest community foundation in Canada and is home to more than 2,200 endowment funds.
Canadian CED Network is a member-led organization committed to strengthening communities by creating economic opportunities that improve environmental and social conditions.
Stefan Epp-Koop is the Community Food Assessment Coordinator for Food Matters Manitoba. He has worked on food issues for several years with Food Matters Manitoba and the University of Manitoba (Manitoba Alternative Food Research Alliance). He has a particular interest in food policy and has prepared several reports for Food Matters Manitoba on food policy at the provincial and municipal level. Stefan holds a MA in History from Queen’s University.
